It’s DonateLife Week

How do we add 6,000,000 people to the organ donor register? One by one.

DonateLife Week, is happening this week, from 28 July to 4 August.

Chloe was only a few months old when she needed a liver transplant. Her life depended on the selflessness of strangers, and her parents couldn’t be more grateful.

We deliver organ and tissue donation services through DonateLife Victoria. So when they said they need to find more Australians to register as organ and tissue donors, we put our hands up to help.

You might’ve signed up on your driver’s license years ago, but that doesn’t mean you’re on the national register.

Registering as an organ donor leaves your family with no doubt of your decision. Even though most people support donation, only 1 in 5 Victorians are actually registered. That leaves a lot of families unsure of what to do when the time comes.

Last year, more than a third of organ donations came from Victoria. It really proves how generous you are.

Ready to register?

Registering is easy and takes less than a minute.

  1. Head to the DonateLife website (while you’re at it, why not send the link to a ‘plus one’?
  2. Click ‘Join the donor register’
  3. Enter your name, Medicare details, postcode and date of birth and click ‘Submit’.

That’s it! If you’re already registered, it’ll let you know. Otherwise, you’ll automatically be added.

All that’s left to do now is tell your friends and family about DonateLife Week using #donatelife #donatelifeweek
