Yeah buoy! Army & Navy seas winning results for 2019 Defence Challenge

Every year, the Navy, Army, Air Force and Defence Public Servants gather together for some friendly competition as part of our Defence Challenge.

Australia’s longest running blood challenge came from humble beginnings, saving almost 4000 lives in the inaugural 2009 Defence Blood Challenge. This year the teams set their sights on completing 9,000 donations, and we’re ecstatic to announce that they met that challenge with 9,007 donations, helping save over 27,000 lives!

Defence industry organisations bring the total up to 10,094 donations, helping change over 30,000 lives.

The Army came in strong with the highest tally for number of donations, but the Navy was hot on their heels taking out the top prizes for new donors, year on year growth, donations per capita and highest plasma donations.

This year the Defence Challenge will be even bigger and better, and we can’t wait to see how many lives our defence team will help save with their generosity.
