Are you one of the 1 in 10?

Friday 15th Feb 2019

Not feeling like your amazing self lately? Looking for that unique line to put in your Tinder/Instagram/LinkedIn bios so you can stand out from the rest? You might fit into one these cool groups, hopefully making you feel a bit more 10/10!

1 in 10 Kiwis live in Australia

We don’t mean the cute, round kind of kiwi that can’t fly (or maybe we do, depending on what your kiwi mate looks like). They’re our jandal wearing, chilly bin using bros that have made the trip across the water to our shore. It’s a true testament to mateship that we can call each other brother and sister, even when they claim they invented Pavlova and think chocolate fish are delish.

1 in 10 people are left handed

The feeling of being unique is probably the only good thing about being left handed. The computer mouse is on the wrong side, you bumped elbows constantly with your desk neighbour in primary school and don’t even get us started on smudging your writing and spiral bound notepads. But hey, at least you share a pretty unique trait with the likes of Leonardo Da Vinci, Matt Groening and Kim Basinger (just to name a few).

1 in 10 Australian blood donors are O negative

Do you have O neg blood flowing through your veins? If you do you’re a pretty special individual! When you donate your O neg blood it means that it can be given to anyone, regardless of their own blood type. Since it’s universal it’s important to make sure our hospitals are well stocked with O neg blood to use in emergencies. If you don’t know your blood type and want to find out if you’re part of the 1 in 10, come in to donate! We’ll tell you your blood type and you’ll be helping to save lives (no matter your blood type!).

10 out of 10 blood donors are absolute champions

We know we’re breaking the rules on this one, but it’s a fact we never tire of sharing. Every week thousands of donors walk into our centres and volunteer their time to make sure that Australia has a constant supply of blood products. Their donations are a lifeline for patients and their families — and we think that makes every single one of our donors absolute champions.

If you’re looking to get that special feeling, why not come in and donate today?
