Tertiary Blood Challenge 2019

1 March - 31 May

Seeing red about the state of the world? Put your hand up to help. Give blood.

There’s a lot going on in the world that has us seeing red. People everywhere are fighting to have their voices heard, online and in the streets. And that’s great, because we know protests work…eventually.

But there’s an action you can take that will change lives now: giving blood.

Every time you donate blood, you can save three lives.

That’s three people whose whole worlds change thanks to you. They could have cancer. Maybe they’re giving birth. Or, they could be someone with a life-threatening immune disease.

From 1 March to 31 May, you can put your hand up to help. Not only will each of your donations save lives, it also counts towards your university, TAFE or school’s Red25 group tally and gives your group the chance to win in one of 4   categories:

  • Highest total donations nationally (Perpetual Tertiary Challenge Cup)
  • Highest total donations in each state
  • Highest number of donors vs members in each state
  • Highest number of new donors in each state

What is Red25?

Red25 is our way of bringing people together to save lives. Red25 groups are made up of people like you who care about what’s happening in the world.

Together, they give more than 25% of Australia’s blood donations.

Easy as 1, 2, 3

  1. Register a donor account online  if you don’t already have one
  2. Join your Red25 group by following the link in the top right corner after you’ve logged in — just search for your school, university or TAFE
  3. Book an appointment and donate

That’s it! You’ll be able to track your group’s results throughout the challenge to see how you’re going and compare yourself to other schools.

Shout it loud

Tell others to put their hands up too. Use posters around campus, throw a picture up on Insta or try the screensaver.
