Dr Eileen Roulis
Research Fellow
Eileen is a Research Fellow in the Product Safety team at Lifeblood. She obtained her PhD in molecular microbiology at the Queensland University of Technology, investigating the genetic diversity of Chlamydia pneumoniae and host/tissue tropism, for which she received a 2016 Outstanding Doctoral Thesis award. She continues her involvement in university teaching as a sessional academic and guest lecturer with QUT.
Eileen’s projects focus on using genomic sequencing technologies to improve product safety. She leads projects in the field of transfusion transmitted infections and emerging risks as well as being involved in projects examining blood group antigen profiles from Indigenous Australians and donors of diverse ethnic backgrounds.
