Lifeblood Teams

A unique, social responsibility program where community groups and members of organisations band together to give blood. 

Who can start a Lifeblood Team? 

We welcome every group in Australia that wants to give blood together. You could be a big organisation, a small business, school, sports club, social club or a group of friends.

It doesn’t matter if you have 5 members or 500, you can still band together to do life-giving good.

What’s in it for my organisation?

A donation more powerful than money. A lifesaving social responsibility program. A chance to champion your people. A sense of genuine life-saving achievement.

Lifeblood Teams is about raising spirits and team pride - and about the sense of unity you get from working together for something bigger than yourself.

Do I need to be in a team to be part of the program?

Yes. You can find an existing team or champion the cause and start your own! Remember, every donor you recruit can save hundreds of lives.

If you believe in blood donation but don’t have an existing group to join, start one. Every donor you can recruit to the cause can save hundreds of lives.

What is a Lifeblood Champion and what do they do?

If you’re a Lifeblood Champion, we’re counting on you to rally your friends, colleagues, teammates and communities to give something truly special. You’re flying the flag for blood donation. 

  • You’ll be in charge of planning, promoting and organising your team.
  • You’ll have access to tools and resources to help recruit new members.
  • You’ll be our first contact, and we’ll stay in touch with news, events and urgent calls for action.
  • Don’t worry, you don’t have to be an expert in blood donation. We’re always here to help

What is self-serve?

Whether you’re a Lifeblood Champion or a team member, you’ll need to register or log in to use self-serve.

Lifeblood Champions can:

  • register your team
  • check availability of team bookings at any donor centre
  • make group bookings for up to 7 people and invite members to reserve a time within that booking
  • see how many bookings have been filled and how many are still available
  • see all current and previous team bookings 
  • view real-time donation tallies and challenge results
  • reschedule or cancel team bookings, and
  • access resources to help promote blood donation to your team.

Lifeblood team members can:

  • accept invitations from Champions to book a donation
  • join or change teams
  • check your current eligibility to donate
  • view real-time donation tallies and challenge results for your team.
  • see their donation history and all current bookings, and
  • change or cancel your donation.

How do I register a team?

Check that no one else in your group has already registered and then register.

How do I join an existing team?

Ask your team Champion for the name of your group and join online

How do I change my or my team's details?

First, register or log in

  • To change your details, go to the ‘My Details’ menu, click on ‘Manage Details’ and then click on ‘Update my preferences’. Choose a new lifeblood Team, press ‘Submit’ and then ‘Save updates’.

  • To change a team's details you must be its Champion. Go to the ‘Lifeblood Teams’ section, then click on the ‘My Team’ section and submit the changes.

How can I see how many donations my team has made?

Whether you’re a member or Champion, you can easily see your team's tally online - just enter your team name and details into the tally results.

If you’re a Champion, you can also see you’re team's tally by logging in and going to ‘My Team’.

How do I make a team booking?

To make a booking you must be the team's Champion.

Remember, however your members donate – individually, in pairs, or in small groups – every donation counts towards your team's tally.
