Along with 65,000 other finishers the Blood Service team crossed the line fit and strong doing their bit to raise awareness for blood donation and the ‘Running on Blood’ campaign championed by shark attack survivor and recipient Glenn Orgias.

Blood Service runners included comedian Dave Hughes, Bondi Rescue’s Tom Bunting, Ambassador Glenn Orgias and the Blood Service’s NSW/ACT Operation Manager, Garry Wolfe.

As well as running 14km the team were encouraged to collect pledges of support. So far 70 pledges have been collected and once the donations have been made, these will save 210 lives.

The team celebrated afterwards at a function at the Swiss Grand Hotel.

Congratulations for the second year in a row to Trent Larcombe who was the first runner back to the Swiss Grand and will receive a 3 month membership to Good Life Gym and also, to Aaron Binnie who won a Bondi Rescue signed jersey.
