Neighbours star and musician Sam Clark is visiting schools across Australia to help promote the importance of donating blood.

It’s a five week national tour, during which Sam will visit 50 secondary schools. As an Ambassador for the Red Cross Blood Service, Sam will talk to students about his commitment to blood donation.

“You can start donating blood from the age of 16, and every blood donation has the power to save three lives, that’s a huge difference young people can make,” Sam said.

“One in three people will need blood in their lifetime, but right now only one in 30 Australians donate.”

“I think the next generation can break this trend and make sure there is always enough blood for patients in need,” he said.

Sam’s commitment to the Blood Service has been growing. Recently, he helped to judge a national schools competition called ‘Radio Star’, in which students created a radio advertisement promoting blood donation. He also donated blood for a promotional DVD.

As part of the school tour Sam will also entertain students with his latest single ‘Devastated’ and debut single ‘Broken’ that reached #1 on the ARIA Physical Charts.
